I am passionate about technology and deeply committed to the future of the Internet. With over 20 years of experience as a service provider expert and Internet routing specialist, I understand the technical, operational, and policy challenges that shape our evolving network ecosystem.

6. What, if any, conflicts of interest might arise for you as an NRO NC member? Specifically, do you serve in what could be perceived as any Internet governance roles, provide any services directly or indirectly to ARIN, or represent any significant interest from the community?

I’m an expert in ISP network architecture and Internet routing technologies.

With over 20 years of experience in Internet Service Provider networks, Internet routing, and network automation, I’ve worked hands-on with IP resource management and understand the operational realities of service providers and infrastructure operators.

    I have had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Ahmad Enaya and fin that his credentials and experience will help guide Arin technically given that rise of Artificial intelligence and increase use of IP by IoT devices. The anticipated increase of AI enabled off-Cloud open source computing will definitely accelerate the use of IPv4 addresses exhaustion, and increase use of IPv6 demanding innovative ways to help combat cyber security threats, many routing and switching device vendors like Cisco are also anticipatedto come up with innovative AI enabled solutions.     I worked with Enaya when he was based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This happened over various years. Initially I met him around 2010 when I was the technical specialist doing network access control (NAC) with the Campus Manager product at Bradford Networks. He was working for a reseller who was actively installing this NAC. We worked together on various deployments over a couple of years. Later in 2014 I had moved to Aruba Networks and again as the NAC specialist for their ClearPass product. Again we worked on various projects. Deploying NAC on live networks is non-trivial. It relies on a good understanding of IP networking and interoperating between different manufacturers at the edge and access routers and with firewalls. Enaya was always highly technically competent, very professional and an excellent ambassador. Deployments of NAC on live networks is highly complex due to the large variety of edge devices. For successful deployments you have a very clear understanding how this customer’s network operats. This includes the physical connection, 802.1X, VLANs, IP routing and firewalls. Often you have to trouble shoot which invariably relies on diving into packet captures. Enaya has all these abilities. But possibly more important than anything is that he’s a diplomat. He can pacify and placate the most annoyed customer. In short would I work with Enaya again: I’d love to. Would I trust him: Absolutely. But most of all he’s a lovely man.
